  The release of zlevis-mkinitfs-3.12 introduces the zlevis-mkinitfs binary, which enables zlevis to be installed or uninstalled in mkinitfs in a decoupled fashion with respect to the package manager. The installation of zlevis-mkinitfs on the system does not change the ownership of the initramfs-init (from mkinitfs to zlevis-mkinitfs) anymore. Taking the prior concerns of system breaking due to install and uninstall of zlevis-mkinitfs away.

  Furthermore, the versioning has been changed to align with the releases of mkinitfs and a check functionality is present in the zlevis-mkinitfs binary, obtaining the ability to check if zlevis is installed in mkinitfs.

  The release of zlevis-mkinitfs-1.2 removes the redundant trigger functionality and changes the LICENSE from GPL-3.0-only to GPL-2.0-only as required by mkinitfs.
